When stepping into the Internet Marketing world, many people seem to have it in there heads that they have to have a website to make money online. So they forget the idea of Internet Marketing completely as an way to make money. I just wanted to set the recorded straight for those who want to make money over the Internet, but do not think they will be able to because they do not know how to make a website.

Building a website can be a real pain, especially when you have no idea what the heck you are doing. When first started affiliate marketing, I had absolutely no idea how to make a website. HTML coding? My uncle is a software programmer and my cousin is an aspiring game designer and I would always here them talk about HTML and C++. I was the guy, nodding along as they talked about it even though I had no idea what they were talking. Heck, I still do not know C++, I’m actually starting a class in it this semester. So we will see how that goes. But, let’s not get off topic.

The point is I nothing about websites, hosting, all the stuff. I’ve learned a great deal since getting into the Internet world, so I know a bit now. But first starting out, nothing.

So at first, I didn’t use a website. Wealthy Affiliate has a really nice  website builder that’s all drag and drop, so it’s easy to make one in a few minutes. However, I didn’t start there because that required me to purchase a domain name (back then I thought they were expensive, but you can get a domain name for actually like a buck if they are .info domains, wish I saw that before).

Instead of a website, I used Blogger, Weebly, Squidoo, Hubpages as my “website”. These are all very easy to work with and completely free. No domains to purchase, no hosting to pay for, nothing. 100% free.

Blogger – If you haven’t heard of blogger, it is where you can make your own blog very easily. You can easily make a blog with your own address. For example – http://affiliateryan.blogspot.com  – Where affiliateryan is what you name your blog. These are simple to set up and you can make money with them. You can has adsense on their, add amazon products to promote, find a ClickBank product to promote, whatever you want. I mention before about Blogging to The Bank, which I previously read. It cost $37, but has great techniques to create a network of blogs with blogger to bring lots of traffic and sales.

Weebly – Very similar to blogger, but instead of a blog, it’s an actually website! They are very simple to set up, no coding need just drag and drop with a variety of website templates available for you. You can make money the same way as blogger, too!

Squidoo and Hubpages – These are very similar, yet a big difference. Squidoo I think looks much better and is more appealing to visitors to your page. They are both free to use and what you do is, you create a webpage on Squidoo or hubpages. Hubpages allows you to link to products and adsense is available. With squidoo you, they have where you can add amazon products and link to other affiliate products. They have gotten much more stricked in the past 6 months, but if you follow their rules, they work very well. I struggled with Squidoo in the beginning becuase I didn’t know how to make th emost out of each what Squidoo calls them “lenses”. I’m a proud One Week Marketing Action Plan by PotPieGirl user. It was a simple plan to really maximize the power of Squidoo and making money with it.

For best results, I use all 4! I’ll use Weebly as my main page/website, then use Squidoo, Hubpages, and blogger to bring in more traffic to your Weebly page. If you do everything right, you can rank all 4 in the Top of Google or other search engines for a specific keyphrase. It’s a great way to really dominate an keyphrase. :)

These are the main free places I use to make money without a website. A website comes in handy once you have really got a grasp on the beginning steps of Internet Marketing. Then, you can make a website to really take off, but for now as a beginner, stick with these free sites. Plus, Weebly is just like having your own website. You can have multiple pages and everything.

Happy New Year, everyone! What? Am I a little late or something?

I’m about to start to spring semester at school after enjoying a wonderful winter break. I apologize for not updating my blog at all, not even my twitter account since winter break started, I guess you can say I was MIA. I very much enjoyed spending time with friends I hadn’t seen in years and spending quality time with my family. Yes, I’m serious I did enjoy it! It was a nice break from all the stress I was under last semester being swamp in school work. Creating this blog was away to escape from it all.

My absence from writing in the blog and tweeting was definitely not the best idea, for I could have help many more people out and built up my blog better. I almost had taken an absence from Internet Marketing all together it seemed like. It’s been awhile since I was able to go out with friends and just relax.

Of course, the semester starts on Monday, so I know those nights are out the door. Since it’s a new year, it’s a new beginning, right? Many use their New Year’s resolutions as a new start to something of course. As for me, I do not depend on a new year to start something new. For me, I start something new the moment I’m I want to.

My point is don’t think because New Year’s is over, it’s the end of January, that you can’t start a new something new. Make a resolution today! Mine was to become a better blogger and profit from it. I do not mean this blog, this blog, sure I can make money with it recommending programs, tools, yada yada yada, but that isn’t the point of this blog. I create this blog to help people who want to make money online. If they purchase a product through my link, then I thank you very much or you can just purchase it through someone else’s. Back to the main topic, but I’m going to start creating blogs on my personal interests and making money from it.

Last night I read Blogging to the Bank. I didn’t want to buy it because I thought it was going to be “junk”. However, I did learn a handful of new tricks to use with blogs to make money and tricks to drive traffic to them. I’m glad I read it and now I’m going to implement those strategies and see what comes of it.

However, Blogging to the Bank is a great guide if you know nothing about blogging. Like I said before, I only learned a handful of new techniques. I learn so much at Wealthy Affiliate University, I wouldn’t be surprised if all those strategies could be found there.

As of now, that’s where I am. If you have any questions for me, please leave a comment or shoot me an email. By the way, Iapologize for those who have tried to contact me before, I have fixed my email, so I will now get your emails.

Jump Right into Affiliate Marketing

Want to jump right into affiliate marketing, right now? Read this…

I have been getting a bunch of emails about affiliate marketing and how do you actually get started. I haven’t had the time to put together my  Affiliate Marketing Jump Start Course (which I’m working on), I have decided to get out this post to help those who are ready to take a dive right into affiliate marketing.

In a nutshell, affiliate marketing is when you, the affiliate, drives possible buyers to the product page. To learn more, read this. An absolutely free way to drive traffic to a product page is to write articles. At the end of the article, you provide a link (your affiliate link) for visitors to click through to learn more about the product.

First, you need to find a product or niche (a group of people you are going send to the product page).  To start, I use ClickBank to find products. It is absolutely free and easy to use. You must sign up (it’s free) and find a product to promote in the marketplace. I pick something that I know a little bit about. I know about fitness and being healthy, so I may look for a weight loss product to promote or something like that.  I obtain my affiliate link for the product I want to promote.

The next thing I do is write articles to drive the specific group of people to the product page. For example, If I wanted to target people who want to lose weight before their wedding, I may write an article title “Lose Weight Before My Wedding – How to Lose Weight Before My Wedding”. In order to rank well in the search engines, so people will read your article, you want to optimize your articles for a specific search term. In my example, my search term or keyword is “Lose weight before my wedding”. This keyword will be in the title, the first sentence of my article, the middle, and at the end of my article.

What do you write in an article seems to be a difficult part for most. For me, I simple write why people would want to lose weight before their wedding, possibly tips on how to lose weight, etc. I like to make my articles short and to the point. You do not sell in your articles, the product page sells. The articles are just meant to drive traffic to the product page. At the end of the article or in the bio section, I would make a convincing statement that will make the reader’s want to go the product page.

Once I write up my article(s), I will submit them to article directories. The only one I focus all my time on is EzineArticles. They are tough, but they are the best of the best. Your articles get the most visibility at Ezine. They rank extremely well in the search engines.

Ezine is the best, however, the are the best for a reason. They DO NOT allow affiliate links. To get your articles approved, I go to Godaddy and purchase a .info domain. Those are very cheap. You can get one for a buck. I pick a domain name that is or is very similar to my niche/product.

If you do not want to spend a single cent, you can send your articles to GoArticles, SearchWrap and/or ArticleCity. Those are just a few.

The more articles, the better. I write several articles for each keyword. I submit two articles per keyword to Ezine. Then, I may change the article up a bit an send it to other article directories.

To start out, writing articles is the best way because it’s free. Many try to go start to PPC, using Google Adwords and place ads on Google, however, if you do not know what your doing, you can and most likely will lose a lot of money. So, I strongly suggest starting out with Article Marketing first.

Hope this helps! If you have any questions or comments, leave them below. :)

E-commerce

I’ve been asked by many “Why did you become an affiliate marketer?” and so I thought I would make a post about what drove me to become an affiliate marketer and why I still am.

Why Did I Become an Affiliate Marketer?

I graduated high school in 2008, grades were average and couldn’t afford to go to a big university. I don’t know about you, but I like to have a lot of things. Those things tend to be expensive. Of course, they have a purpose, it’s not like I just like to spend money. Anyway, I needed to make money, but with school I felt it would be nice to find a job I could do from home. I searched and searched for methods of making money online. I stumbled across affiliate marketer.I began research…

A few lines that got me HOOKED on Affiliate Marketing.

“Make Money on Autopilot”

“Make Money as you sleep”

“Easiest internet business”

As I read these lines, which I saw everywhere, I though to myself “NO WAY! This is impossible, make money while you sleep?” I began to ask questions if that was true. I found out, it is and it is the coolest feeling. Going to be at night and waking up the next morning to find money sitting in your account. I couldn’t believe it.

When they say you can “make money on autopilot”, what they mean is that with affiliate marketing you set up a campaign, which could be a number of different methods. As an example, let’s say I write about a blog talking about a product. The blog as my affiliate link and information about the product and why people should but it. I write a bunch of articles and link them to my blog. Now, completely on autopilot, I will have potential customers reading my articles, visiting my blog, and hopefully click through to the product to buy, while I sit back and watch TV. Potentially, you can work for a couple hours a day and make money.

There has been times I do not do any marketing stuff for a week and yet because I set up a traffic funnel to my affiliate link, I still make money.

That’s why I LOVE it!
